RARE!
“Based in a thirteenth-century German poem, Lohengrin is a beautiful retelling of the famous Wagner opera. Lohengrin, a knight of the Holy Grail, is sent to rescue Princess Elsa, wrongfully accused of having m*rdered her brother. In spite of the evil that threatens Elsa, she still believes her shining knight will save her. A Divine power intervenes to save Elsa and her “murdered brother”, but in the course of events Elsa faces an even greater trial; for she is forbidden to ask the name of her champion.
This adaptation of Wagner’s three-act music drama, enhanced by Herbert Danska’s exquisite drawings, has all the magic of fairy tales that children love. The text, carefully prepared by Doris Orgel, has been read for accuracy and fidelity to the original by Tye Metropolitan Opera Guild, Inc.”
Hardcover, excellent vintage condition.
